Her style and method was very effective

I worked with Rose over a period of one year and this was a transformational experience for me. I had just turned 40 and was struggling with achieving a greater balance in my life and leveraging on professional and personal objectives.

Her style and method was very effective, helping me to refocus my energies and complete some major goals in my life. I found her to be always encouraging and a patient and insightful guide through life experiences in pursuit of goals and dreams.

My sessions with her helped me truly move forward with life.
I highly recommend Rose as a life and career coach. She’s the complete package: focused, reflective, practical, productive, and supportive.

I came looking for ‘career’ advice

When my friend Sarah told me about the mentorship programme, I thought I could probably try it out but I wasn’t sure that it would actually make a difference. I was one year into a new extremely stretching job juggling a number of roles that involved a lot of travel. I think I exaggerated the ‘career woman’ thing, I had completely lost myself in my job, it’s all I did and everyone around me was complaining.

I had joined a promising new industry but I was completely overwhelmed. The first thing that Rose told me when we met was what an opportunity I had! How lucky I was! And from then on, I started looking at the brighter side of it and started rectifying the things that pulled me back. Rose also delved into other areas of my life. I came looking for ‘career’ advice and just appreciating that it cannot work as a standalone was eye opening. That is what I loved about the programme. The holistic approach.

Since I started the programme, a lot has changed. I now look more at life from outside my job. I’m milking the opportunity to set my future. I have accelerated some future plans and as a result, my dreams look so real! I’m more confident about what I’m capable of doing.

I’m glad I went through the programme, it is worth every penny!

A wonderful course led by a truly inspirational leader

When I first met Rose Ogega as part of Blooms’ Women’s Mentoring Programme little did I know that I was about to embark on an almost addictive journey – each session was akin to receiving a vitamin shot – an amazing pick me up that kept me constantly wanting for more! Rose led me through an experience of self discovery, reflection and ultimately one of action. The course enabled me to address my fears, confront issues that are easier tucked away and to actively manage my own eco system, being aware of those that were dragging me down and actively engaging with others who could lift me up. Most important of all, I met some amazing women who all came to the table in offering support and encouragement. A wonderful course led by a truly inspirational leader – highly recommend it!

The Bloom Mentorship program did much more for me

Like many executives, I found it challenging to take the time to step back and address professional and personal issues in a constructive manner. The time spent during the bloom mentorship and the views expressed by mentor and those who had gone through the program ahead of me gave me the necessary clarity to stand back from those issues.

The Bloom Mentorship program did much more for me than learning how to face some of my work and life challenges. The approach used by my mentor in the program, Rose Ogega, was structured and allowed for a full and holistic interrogation of all areas in my life even those that I had not considered to be influential to my career path. I was impressed by the level of devotion and commitment by Rose Ogega who was not shy to use her own experiences as example. The sharing of perspectives and thoughts both by the mentor and previous mentees, appealed and challenged my knowledge base. It provided me with new thinking – new approaches – all of which encouraged my continued development. I truly enjoyed every step and recommend the program to anyone looking to take their professional and personal life to the next level.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

At some point in my life someone has asked me the question where I want to be 5 years or 10 years from now? I’m sure I have given an answer but never one I thought I’d give after the journey at bloom. I discovered Milkah, I learnt that she needed a mission statement for her life because without it you only do things because you have to and not because they steer you to where you want to go, and this is always somewhere at the back of your mind but bloom helped me be more purposeful about it.

I learnt what to consider to make better decisions but the greatest and most timely experience was discovering how to identify and face the giants in my life and to be balanced about every aspect of it and why that mattered.

I first went to bloom so that I could be able to do for others and left having learnt that first you have to do for self which therefore translates into being able to do for others. There is a huge difference when it starts with you and this clarity was very liberating. I left the program more focused and very purpose oriented.

And finally one of my best read`s this year came from this interaction; “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff -and it`s all small stuff by Richard Carlson”. (Ps, they have an omnibus of his three books in one on don’t sweat the small stuff on life, work and money, I loved the read)

Rose and Shilpa-thanks for taking the time to impact and inspire I will forever be grateful.
